Graphite are extremely proud to celebrate and recognise the future of engineering – our partner, University of Glasgow Racing (UG Racing) for their win at Formula Student UK 2022. They finished first place in both the dynamic events category and the competition overall, beating out teams not only from the UK but worldwide. They have now become only the third team from the UK to win the competition, as well as the most successful team in Scottish history.
The Formula Student event is run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and challenges engineering students from universities around the world to design, build and race single-seater cars in various events at the legendary Silverstone track.
Graphite’s second year of partnership has included the provision of parts and financial support to the victorious Glasgow University team. We worked closely with the team to assist in the development of the Intake System design for their Combustion Car UG22 and recommended the best material and finishing combination for the part which was our internally-developed, SinterWorx G4 material, Vapor Smoothed for a 100% sealed finish. UGR hope to continue the Graphite partnership into 2023 and beyond.
